Can I send a US military duffel bag through the mail (USPS)?
I'm flying in to JFK in a few days, and I'd like to mail one of my pieces of luggage home so I don't have to pay so much for it. Do you know if I can send a military style duffel bag through the regular mail?
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but you can send just about anything by mail as long as it's not illegal or dangerous. You can even send a shoe by mail if you put enough postage on it. I do think you're underestimating the cost of shipping luggage; you're probably not going to be able to do it for less than $75, and even that's very low. If you're active military, most airlines will give you two checked bags up to 50 lbs for free. Even better, if you're flying with Delta or Continental, they'll give you up to three free checked bags up to 70 lbs each for free as an active military member.
